The Attic Thrift Store was established in 1959. With volunteers it served as a fundraising source for the Fayetteville City Hospital. The hospital was established in 1912 and closed in 1990, but the Attic continued services. Today, we support local organizations and offer scholarship funding for nursing and health related fields.
History
Betty Battenfield, a driving force in the organization, donated her time to the Attic for over 20 years, serving as board president for 5 terms and retiring in August 2024 at age 98. We honor her passing in 2025 remaining dedicated to supporting local community organizations and scholarships.
